SUSTAINABLE

 MATERIAL LAB & PRODUCT DESIGN

As a Swiss-born designer with a multicultural background, Sarah-Laura embarked on journey spanning three years, delving deep into the world of material combinations.

Through extensive research and a multitude of experiments, she successfully created Topia Tegel in collaboration with Arne H.—a decorative tile that harmoniously merges sustainability and resourcefulness.

The unique feature of Topia Tegel lies in its manufacturing process—a NO BAKE, NO GLAZE method, resulting in a glossy texture, forming a sealed surface.

Working under her theme of Glocality, Peyrel Design embraces the philosophy of “Think Global, Act Local.” Through this lens, she aims to foster interdisciplinary collaborations that address the challenges ahead of us.

Her creations tell a powerful story of collaboration, passion, and determination—a testament to her shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Sarah-Laura wants to pave the way toward a greener future, one experiment at a time.

DUTCH DESIGN WEEK

The Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven is an exciting annual event that celebrates the forefront of design and creativity. It provides a platform for designers and innovators from around the globe to showcase their groundbreaking works and ideas to an eager audience.

Sarah-Laura exhibited "Topia Tegel" and works where she restored existing furniture with newly available bio-based materials. The highlight of her research on sustainable material combinations, in this case is —magnesium oxychloride, organic pigment, starch and hemp fibers.

The fusion of artistry and eco-friendly design left a lasting impression, inspiring others to explore new possibilities. The positive response and valuable connections made during the event reaffirmed her commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainable design.

Presenting at the Dutch Design Week is one of the milestones where her passion for design and sustainability merged into a force for encouraging change in the world.
